Rashomon Film Essay
This is a short film essay I compiled for my Sound Era class, mostly with clips from Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon. I added historical context regarding post-World War II Japanese economy, and put it all in conversation with film theorist Stephen Prince's essay "The Rashomon Effect" in order to communicate the revolutionary narrative and visual style Kurosawa brought to cinema.
